Member CommentsSnakePliskkenThink about grundy center who doesn't really have that much more people than us and they are in the middle of nowhere and they have pizza hut, ag dealers, bowling alley, theater, pretty established downtown. That town literally stole me away on the weekends because of their offerings. No more money from my pocket going to Reinbeck because it just all went to Grundy Center. Posted 440 days ago. SnakePliskkenI think spending is a good way to start to stimulate our local economy. Addressing bringing outsiders to Reinbeck is another questions. I live there for many years and I always thought the one things that dragged Reinbeck to the dirt compared to some surrounding communities is the lack of substance in the town. There is literally nothing in Reinbeck that would make me want to move back to the town besides a better paying job. I'm not dissing Reinbeck becuase I love the town to death and think great people come from there but why would a young 20 something want to move to a town where we have no chain fast food or sit down restaurants, no theater, no car dealerships, and that's just some of the basics. We need to band together a create an atmosphere that gets people talking about Reinbeck. When I heard there was going to be a brewery in Reinbeck I was so excited. Someone took a chance a created something unique and popular right now that could create some statewidebuzzeventually Posted 440 days ago. TheARTmanI think the best thing people could do is to get out and spend a little. If you are going to buy that new car, new stove, new outfit in the next few months anyway, why not just go and buy it now. You will help your neighbor and you might even get a good deal.
